Rain

It is somehow rainy season in Sabah (the north-western part of Borneo), so rain comes twice or three times a day. And when it comes, it is downpour.

And many houses have a tin or wooden roof, so it gets quite noisy. The rain is very present.

And the rain is warm. Although it cools down the air from 30 to 25C, it is very pleasant. And often, the lights create wonderful contrasts.

Only when you are in the jungle, and the leeches dance, then it can be a bit too much.

When we left Berlin for Singapore the plane had to be de-iced, much to the attraction of the kids. When we left Kawau for Kota Kinabalu, they were serving umbrellas for the unboarding guests.
