On the way to Sicily

It is about 2300 km from Berlin to Sicily, so we cheated a bit and took the ferry from Genova to Palermo, which money-wise resulted in the same … although I cannot judge the fume-costs of the ferry.

Anyway, we started with a wonderful stop-over in Munich, for some professional reasons, and the to-date highest building there is always a good spot to visit (from the 37th floor you can see the Alps)!

We spend the night on one of the two camping grounds in Munich (because of the shower) and headed to Genua via San Bernardino. With kids, this requires a stop, and Landvergnügen is our friend, as we found a grounding and nice and sympathetic bio farm near Dornbirn, where we could spend the night with our Bully. We barbecued (after I nearly cut my finger, no image provided) with the organic patties we bought there, and it was the best beef I had in a while. Also the view as astonishing, Lake Konstanz in the mist ….

Next was the ferry, and the wait for it. Genova is nice but special (not only because of colliding bridges), and wail waiting for the ship we enjoyed a weird cable tram up a hill, and then down a hill.

And then we were ready to ship. (Note for the next ferry trip: bring your own food, and bring a lot. Otherwise you will fall back to the service they provide, and it may not up to you standards …). And I nearly saw a fight of some Italian guy with the waiter over the price of 17 EUR for a Spritz …

But when you arrive, everything is forgotten, and Cevalu welcomed us …
