Dome glamping in Warsaw

Warsaw in the woods

We had the great opportunity to drive to Warsaw and live in a dome house for the first time in my life. I’ve often seen them in articles or Airbnb listings but never had the chance to experience one myself. So…

Dome from outside

With a diameter of about 8 meters, they are quite spacious, especially if there’s a second level, as ours had, for an additional bed, situated on a kind of platform, which was immediately claimed by the kids.

Dome from inside with the view to the woods

Our dome had a unique window structure (transparent triangles forming a hexagon), which offered a beautiful view of the woods. The fabric was primarily a double-layered textile, which felt somewhat inadequately insulating, especially given the chilly outside temperatures (dropping to 5°C). As a result, the air conditioner/heat pump ran continuously. I imagine if the dome’s cover was made of solar panels, it would be more energy efficient.

I genuinely enjoyed the experience, as it inspired various ideas in me, like connecting several of these domes to form a larger structure, conceptualizing the interior designs, or even imagining such a structure on Mars…

The only drawback was the acoustics; the dome didn’t block much noise, especially from neighbors. However, there might be room for improvement in this aspect.

Additionally, we had a wonderful time at the Copernicus Science Centre, an excellent place to spend hours with kids. We were lucky enough to get tickets (book in advance).

Nearby is the University with its impressive roof gardens. Thank you!
